PYPO Summer Camps 2025

Monday through Friday, July 14-18

In this week-long music intensive, students learn music in string orchestra, band, and full orchestra ensembles culminating in a final performance for family and friends at the end of the week. In addition to musical learning, PYPO summer campers get to take part in activities like bucket drumming, fiddling and improvisation workshops, outdoor games, and more! If you're looking for a place to make new friends, continue developing your musical skills, or just have some fun, PYPO Summer Camps are for you. There is no audition required to participate in a PYPO summer music program.

Location

Camp will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Rd in Bethel Park, PA

Instructors

Camps are taught by PYPO’s experienced instructors, most of whom also teach music in public schools across the area. Additional instruction is provided by guest coaches and high school student mentors.

Registrations on/before June 1st

Half-Day Camp: $130.00

Full-Day Camp: $275.00

Registrations after June 1st

Half-Day Camp: $150.00

Full-Day Camp: $300.00

Tuition includes all camp activities and a summer camp t-shirt! Payment is due at the point of registration (registration links below).

Camp Information

HALF-DAY CAMP FOR DEVELOPING MUSICIANS

Geared towards developing string and band musicians, students in our half-day camp will learn more about playing their instrument while working in a string orchestra or full band setting. Students work on technical and ensemble skills in a welcoming environment, and will receive additional guidance from our high-school student mentors.

Eligibility

String Students: Going into 3rd through 6th grade with at least one year of playing experience

Band Students: Going into 4th through 6th grade with at least one year of playing experience

Schedule

9:00am to 11:30am, July 14th - July 18th

Final Concert at 11:30am on Friday

FULL DAY CAMP FOR INTERMEDIATE MUSICIANS

Geared towards intermediate musicians who have mastered the foundational skills of their instrument, students in our full-day camps rehearse in string and band ensembles separately, and then combine for a full orchestra experience!
